Hi! My name is Jess, I live in Perth, Western Australia, with my husband, two young sons, two cats and our dog. I love to entertain, cook, dance, read, go for walks and most of all, spend time with my family and friends.
I have a passion for helping people and my career before having children was as an occupational therapist. I have worked with people who are neurodivergent and/or have experience with chronic pain conditions and mental health concerns. Since becoming a parent myself, I have been seeking a balance of enjoying parenthood, finding my own identity again and staying connected with my loved ones.
There is an old African Proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child." This saying sits so deeply with me since having my own children. So many of us live far away from our families and our support systems can be limited, which can be so challenging.
Build Your Village, intends to be a support system for anyone who needs the extra help. Whether you're a new parent struggling with the increase in laundry, cooking, cleaning and isolation, or if you're aging, slowing down and you would like an extra set of hands to help you around the home. I want to be able to support people in my local community to feel confident and safe in their own homes and accessing the community.
